The city of Castellaneta was the stage of an event
dedicated to the divo for excellence of the silent era cinema, Rodolfo Valentino.
Saturday 6th May in occasion of the 111° anniversary of his birth, four acknowledgment
awards, Magna Greece Awards -
Special Mention Rodolfo Valentino, were given to the master Luis Bacalov,
the writer and scriptwriter Vincenzo Cerami, to the author and
actor Paul Orlandelli and to the actor Emilio Solfrizzi.
Castellaneta, this fascinating jonic sea city, once again in the sign of the mythical Rudy, hosted
these well deserving protagonists of an acknowledgment that
has already paid such mention in the past editions to Ferzan Ozpetek, Elena
Sofia Curly, Christian De Sica and Cristiana Capotondi.
The awards were delivered at the Theatre Valentino. Master Luis Bacalov (composer
for the cinema, he collaborated, among others with film directors like Lattuada, Damiani, Drains, Petri, Faccini, Giraldi, Wertmüller, Kurys, Stora,
Lefebvre, Borowczyk, Greco, the Frazzi brothers, Pasolini, Fellini, Radford,
Roses, won the Oscar of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and
Science for the musics of the film 'Il Postino' and the Golden Globe for music
for
the film the Council of Egypt by Emidio Greco; from 2005 he is main director of
the Orchestra of the Magna Greece); the Writer and Scriptwriter Vincenzo
Cerami (in his career he collaborated with several directors like Sergio Citti,
Marco Bellocchio, Giuseppe Bertolucci, Gianni Amelio and Antonio Albanese, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Nicholas Benign Piovani and above all
Roberto, he has signed the 'Piccolo Diavolo', Johnny Stecchino, 'Il Mostro', 'Life
is beautiful', 'Pinocchio' and 'The tiger and the snow'); the author and actor
Paul Orlandelli (a National Academy of
Dramatic Art Silvio D' Amico" graduate, in quality of actor and
aid-director has collaborated with prestigious Italian and foreign artists; he translated and
adapted for the scene the scripts of Rodolfo Valentino, the Musical comedy,
Victor-Victoria and the Phantom of the Opera. He translated Rodolfo Valentino's
'My Private Diary'); the actor Emilio Solfrizzi
(he debuted on the silver screen in 1996 with "I Selvaggi"
directed by Carlo Vanzina, then worked with the Coltelli Brothers in Besame
Mucho, Matrimoni, Liberati i Pesci, Beati Loro, El Alamein (TV serial), Agata e
la tempesta, Per sempre, Incidenti e earlier this year in Sergio Rubini's movie
